Our local Aldi has started to sell packs of 4 toilet rolls wrapped in paper packaging for £1.49 (37 pence per roll).

Previously the only toilet paper I found in our supermarkets was wrapped in plastic, so I headed on line, and did a search on Amazon. There I found an option to buy 5 packs of 9 toilet rolls by Ecoleaf, made with recycled paper and wrapped in what it says is 100% compostable wrapping for £24.10 plus postage working out at about 58 pence per roll.
It arrived in a very large cardboard box – great, until I opened the box and found that all 5 packs were themselves wrapped in single use 100% not compostable or recyclable plastic!(This turned out to be a theme with some of the things I bought on line, not just with Amazon.)

Moist Toilet Paper
At the risk of over sharing with you, I liked to have a pack of these handy next to the loo, until I watched something on TV that demonstrated that basically these things do not dissolve as they contain plastic, and should NOT be flushed down the loo. Sadly I cannot find a replacement for this product, so when the last sheet is disposed of, I shall not be buying this product again. If any of you discover a plastic free alternative to this, please do leave a comment.
