I thought that deodorant sticks could only come in plastic but I was wrong. I have found a couple of alternatives on line that come in a cardboard push up tube which can be composted or recycled with paper. The one I am trying I found on line from a seller called Peace with the Wild . But when you add on the postage it costs about 2 times more than the price I normally pay for my regular deodorant (ouch!).

Other options I found online include: “Earth Conscious ” 60 g for £7.00 plus postage (as at 16.7.19) from The Plastic Free shop

So I am on the hunt for cheaper versions. If you find any please do let me know.

Since writing this I have discovered a plastic free solid deodorant by salt of the earth £4.85 for 75g as at 23.11.19

My next challenge will be to trial maki g and using my own deodorant with Shea butter, coconut oil and bicarb, to see if this works as well as saving the cost of a ready made product
