compost!

It’s that time of year when I mulch the Garden borders with my home made compost.

My Ecomax composter is full of gardener’s “gold”

Through the year all the plant material, and grass cuttings that I have accumulated from the garden, have been placed in my Ecomax composter, together with a mix of bits of brown cardboard, and veg peelings and used tea bags from the kitchen.

The composter has quietly got on with the process of decomposition all through the year, to produce gardener’s “gold”

It smells of barely nothing. Its ready to use.

I spread it across my borders all around my plants in the Autumn, where over winter the frost breaks it down even further, and the worms will incorporate it into the soil to provide nutrients to feed the garden next year. All for free!

Whilst turning it out I came across a handful of Clipper tea bag “pyramids” thrown in over a year ago before I realised they were made from plastic and stopped buying them.

The tea leaves inside have composted down but the bags have remained intact.
