toothbrushing

I have only ever used plastic toothbrushes, and toothpaste in plastic tubes.

I have now made the move to bamboo toothbrushes. I found this pack of 4 toothbrushes on Amazon, the handle being made from bamboo. They came individually wrapped in cardboard. The bristles are not compostable, but it is a big reduction in the plastic of my regular toothbrush.

The only thing is that I do not know where they were made, or anything about their manufacture. There are no clues on the box, just an email address. I don\’t think that I will buy these ones again, but instead take some more time to find ones with more information.

I recently discovered that Superdrug are selling 2 different brands of toothbrushes with a bamboo handle by Colgate and Humble for £3.99. I also found them on sale in Morrison\’s on 10th December for £4.00.

Be warned though that if you order them from Superdrug online to collect ftom the store, like I did first time around, they were handed to me by the well meaning store staff in a heat sealed plastic bag. This meant the only way to open it was to tear the bag. So no way the bag could be reused either by returning it to the store or by me at home!

Next us toothpaste, I am now trialling tooth paste in tablet form by Denttabs ordered from The Plastic Free shop online.

They arrived in a paper jiffy bag

The tablets come in a metal case

The instructions are on the side

Chew one tablet then brush in the usual way.
